Engineered quartz (not to be confused with Quartzite, another appealing natural stone used as counters) is a manmade product created mostly from natural materials. It's made of 90 to 94 percent ground quartz and 6 to 10 percent resins and pigments that are combined into durable and nonporous slabs.

Our Crystal White Quartz has mirrored flecks and translucent grains on a light cream background. The mirrored flecks reflect the surrounding light, and this gives an effect of light greenish-grey shards carefully compacted into this White Quartz Surface.
This type of surface is something that happens in the natural world when sandstone is cemented to quartzite through heating and pressure usually related to tectonic compression as the earth's plates crash and collide together. The individual White Sparkling Quartz grains recrystallize along with the former cementing material to form an interlocking mosaic of quartz crystals. The grainy, sandpaper-like surface becomes glassy in appearance and this is the effect that we wish to achieve with our crystal range of colors.
